What I Packed in My Wedding Day Emergency Kit (That Saved the Day!)
This post is all about everything you need for your wedding day emergency kit.

Let me take you back to my wedding day — sunny Ibiza, turquoise water, barefoot on the beach, a bridal party that could party, and me, the bride, standing in my dream wedding gown… very glad we managed to get the blue pen out of it that morning. 🙃
I had a destination wedding in Ibiza (best decision ever, by the way), and while everything looked picture-perfect, I would’ve been totally lost without my wedding day emergency kit.
There were minor mishaps that were saved by this kit — and without it, they could’ve become major stress meltdowns.
And here’s the thing: every bride has that one big fear before the wedding — What if something goes wrong on the day and I can’t fix it? A broken zipper. A popped button. A headache or makeup disaster just before walking down the aisle.
The last thing you want is to be scrambling for a solution when you’re supposed to be soaking in every magical moment of your big day. Don’t worry I’ve got you.
That’s why I’m desperate to share this list with you. Because if you’re planning your big day, you deserve to have the most beautiful wedding — not one where a tiny fashion emergency sends you into panic mode.
So here’s everything I packed in my own wedding day emergency kit that genuinely saved the day — and can save yours too. Whether you’re the bride, a maid of honor, or a wedding planner, this is your go-to checklist for peace of mind.
What is a Wedding Day Emergency Kit?
A wedding day emergency kit is basically your bridal safety net — a little bag (or box!) filled with must-have items to fix any unexpected hiccups that might pop up on your special day.
Think: fashion tape for wardrobe malfunctions, pain relievers for surprise headaches, and bobby pins to tame flyaways before photos. It’s a quick fix kit that gives you total peace of mind so you can focus on soaking in every beautiful moment — not scrambling for a stain remover pen or earring backs mid-ceremony.
Why You Need a Wedding Day Emergency Kit
The day of the wedding can be full of unexpected hiccups — we’re talking blistered feet, broken nails, and smudged mascara. It’s those little things that creep up when you least expect them. But with the right prep? You can feel cool, calm, and totally in control.
Even if you don’t use every item, having them nearby is such a good idea. Plus, you’ll be everyone’s hero when you’re the one who can fix a zipper, rescue a lash, or pull out a Tide Pen like a magician.

👗 Fashion Fixes

These saved me when my bridesmaid’s strap broke two minutes before walking down the aisle. 😳
- Tide Pen / Stain Remover Pen – Because sangria splashes happen.
- Fashion Tape – For sudden gaps or slipping straps. I’m obsessed.
- Safety Pins – Lifesavers for wardrobe malfunctions.
- Sewing Kit – Button popped? No problem.
- Super Glue – Random but genius for shoe repairs or broken decor.
- Heel Stoppers – Avoid sinking into grass if you’re having outdoor ceremonies.
- Lint Roller – I brought two. The groom needed it more than me!
- Clear Nail Polish – Great for stocking runs or a chipped mani.
- Mini First Aid Kit – Bandaids, antiseptic wipes, nail clippers, and tweezers.
Mishap #1: We took my wedding dress out of the bag and it had a blob of blue ink on the back section of my dress – and once you saw it , you couldn’t unsee it! Luckily with a tide pen we managed to get the stain out in time for the ceremony.
💄 Beauty Essentials

These were my holy grail items. I swear by them.
- Dry Shampoo – I touched up my bangs before photos. Game changer.
- Setting Spray – Keeps your face fresh, even after hours on the dance floor.
- Mini Mirror – I kept this in my bouquet clutch!
- Blotting Paper – Especially if your wedding ceremony is outside.
- Lip Balm – Don’t forget your lips under that lipstick.
- Eyelash Glue – A wind gust nearly took mine out mid-vows.
- Eye Drops – Tears, sun, and makeup = redness.
- Makeup Remover – For accidental eyeliner flops. Use cotton swabs for precision.
- Breath Mints / Breath Spray – A must-have before that first kiss.
Mishap #2: My photographer caught by bridesmaid fixing my false lashes with tweezers and eyelash glue in the bathroom. Not glamorous, but necessary!
💕 Comfort + Health Helpers

Let’s talk real talk — things get sweaty, you walk miles, and your body is doing the most. Be kind to it.
- Blister Plasters – I’m begging you. Pack these.
- Pain Relievers – Headaches, cramps, and sore feet don’t care it’s your special day.
- Anti-Chafing Gel – Especially if your thighs kiss. No shame, only comfort.
- Sanitary Products – Even if you’re not due. Because Murphy’s Law.
- Hand Sanitizer / Hand Wipes – Essential during meal times and hugging guests.
- Hydration Sachets – For that post-dance floor pick-me-up.
- Bug Spray – If you’re doing a country wedding or outdoor weddings.
- Water Bottle – Stay hydrated. Dehydration = dull skin + cranky bride.
- Breath Mints – I kept some in my fiancé’s jacket too.
Tip: I like to put blister plasters on the areas of my feet that are prone to blisters (before I have a blister). That way it prevents the blister before it even occurs.
💍 Tiny Touch-Ups & Tech Stuff

These are the smaller items that make a big difference.
- Extra Earring Backs – These get lost faster than confetti.
- Hair Ties & Bobby Pins – Always a great idea to have extras.
- Nail File – I broke a nail opening champagne. Oops.
- Power Bank / Phone Chargers – For selfies and calling the wedding planner.
- Tissues – Not just for tears — think makeup smudges and champagne spills.
We had a spotify playlist for the wedding ceremony, but there was nowhere to charge the ipad close the the speakers so a power bank was a lifesaver in this situ!
How to Pack Your Own Wedding Day Emergency Kit
Here’s the best part — you don’t need to buy everything new. Use makeup bags or pouches you already have, label things by category (beauty, fashion, first aid, etc.), and keep it all together in a tote or clear case.
I split mine into two:
- One for my bridal suite
- One for my maid of honor to carry to the venue in a tote bag and leave in a safe space.
Having these kits ready gave me peace of mind. Every little detail felt under control, and it allowed me to be totally present for the big day moments.
Bonus Tips for the Bridal Party
📝 Assign someone in the bridal party to be the keeper of the kit. It’s such a good idea to not have to worry about grabbing something yourself.
🎒 Create mini versions for your bridesmaids — they’ll thank you, I promise.
👔 Don’t forget the groom! Give him his own little pouch with:
- Deodorant
- Mints
- Floss
- Nail clippers
- Pain relievers
- Lint roller

Finally,
Be that girl that’s prepared for any situation. There’s something iconic about a bride who’s calm, prepared, and unfazed by the little things. You don’t need to be a perfectionist — just a smart cookie with a bridal emergency kit that handles the chaos for you.
Whether it’s a beach bash, barn wedding venue, or classic western wedding, you’ll feel confident knowing you’ve got everything you could possibly need — and more.
So pack it, zip it, and strut into your wedding dress knowing you’re unstoppable. 💍✨
